Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform thorough dental cleanings and prophylaxis to keep patients' smiles healthy and bright
• Take and develop dental x-rays, ensuring accurate imaging for diagnosis
• Assess oral health conditions and report findings to the dentist for comprehensive treatment planning
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care
• Apply fluoride treatments and dental sealants to protect teeth from decay
• Document patient care and maintain detailed treatment records
• Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment, following strict infection control protocols

Qualifications

• Active Dental Hygienist license in Virginia (or compact state eligibility)
• CPR/BLS certification required
• Prior experience in clinical dental hygiene preferred
• Strong communication and patient care skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a dental team

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in dental prophylaxis and scaling techniques
• Certified in dental radiology (X-ray certification)
• Knowledge of dental anatomy, oral pathology, and periodontics
• Excellent patient education and chairside manner
• Attention to detail with a commitment to infection control and safety
