Roles & Responsibilities
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, including blood pressure and pulse oximetry
- Assist oral surgeons with wisdom tooth extractions and other surgical procedures
- Administer nitrous oxide and monitor IV sedation during procedures
- Take and process panoramic dental x-rays
- Prepare surgical instruments and maintain a sterile environment
- Provide compassionate patient care and post-operative instructions
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a dental assistant, preferably in oral surgery
- Certification as a Dental Assistant (CDA or similar)
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Experience with nitrous oxide and IV sedation monitoring
- Proficiency in taking panoramic x-rays
Knowledge & Skills
- Vital signs monitoring (BP, Pulse O2)
- Nitrous oxide sedation administration
- IV sedation techniques and monitoring
- Panoramic x-ray imaging
- Wisdom tooth surgery procedures
