Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during patient exams and treatment procedures
• Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments
• Take dental x-rays, impressions, and digital scans
• Provide patients with oral hygiene instructions and care education
• Maintain accurate patient records and update treatment charts
• Ensure a positive, comfortable experience for every patient

Qualifications

• Current Maryland Dental Assistant license or certification required
• Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) preferred
• X-ray certification (Radiography) required
• Experience in orthodontic assisting or dental assisting preferred
• CPR/BLS certification required
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a genuine passion for patient care

Knowledge & Skills

• Familiarity with dental charting and dental terminology
• Knowledge of sterilization and infection control protocols
• Proficiency with dental software and digital imaging systems
• Understanding of orthodontic appliances, braces, and aligners
• Strong communication skills to connect with patients of all ages
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities
