Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the orthodontist during patient exams and procedures, ensuring a smooth and comfortable experience
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments to maintain a safe and clean environment
- Take dental X-rays and impressions as directed, always prioritizing patient comfort
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care, reinforcing positive habits
- Document patient care accurately using Denticon software and maintain up-to-date records
- Provide a welcoming, reassuring presence to patients of all ages
Qualifications
- Friendly, patient-focused team player with a positive attitude
- Orthodontic assisting experience is a must - you'll hit the ground running
- Proficiency with Denticon practice management software (the office uses it daily)
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred
- Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced clinical setting
- Excellent communication skills, both with patients and fellow team members
Knowledge & Skills
- In-depth understanding of orthodontic instruments and sterilization techniques
- Skilled in taking dental X-rays, impressions, and photos
- Solid grasp of dental terminology and procedures
- Comfortable navigating Denticon for charting and scheduling
- A gentle, caring approach that puts patients at ease
