Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist orthodontists during examinations, procedures, and appliance adjustments
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and treatment rooms to the highest standards
- Take and develop dental X-rays with precision and care
- Educate patients and their families on orthodontic care and oral hygiene
- Maintain accurate patient records and update treatment plans
- Manage inventory of orthodontic supplies and ensure seamless office operations
Qualifications
- Active Dental Assistant certification (CDA/RDA) or eligibility to obtain
- Radiology certification (dental X-ray license) is required
- Previous orthodontic assisting experience is a plus, but training may be provided
- Excellent communication skills with a patient-first mindset
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- A positive attitude and passion for creating beautiful smiles
Knowledge & Skills
- Thorough knowledge of dental instruments, sterilization, and infection control protocols
- Familiarity with orthodontic appliances, brackets, wires, and retainers
- Proficiency in dental software for charting and scheduling
- Great interpersonal skills to ease patient anxiety and build rapport
- Ability to anticipate the orthodontist's needs and work seamlessly as a team
