Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional chairside assistance during oral surgery procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety from start to finish.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure and pulse oximetry, throughout procedures to support patient wellbeing.
- Assist with IV sedation and nitrous oxide administration, helping patients feel calm and cared for during their visit.
- Capture high-quality panoramic X-rays to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Support wisdom tooth surgeries by preparing instruments, anticipating surgeon needs, and maintaining a sterile environment.
- Deliver clear post-operative instructions to patients and families, promoting smooth recoveries and lasting smiles.
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a dental assistant, ideally in oral surgery or a similar specialty, is a plus.
- Comfort and confidence monitoring vital signs and assisting with sedation procedures (nitrous oxide/IV).
- Ability to take panoramic X-rays and manage surgical instruments.
- Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-first attitude.
- Current BLS/CPR certification preferred; dental assistant certification/registration as required by state.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced clinical environment.
