Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional chairside assistance during oral surgery procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety from start to finish.
  • Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure and pulse oximetry, throughout procedures to support patient wellbeing.
  • Assist with IV sedation and nitrous oxide administration, helping patients feel calm and cared for during their visit.
  • Capture high-quality panoramic X-rays to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Support wisdom tooth surgeries by preparing instruments, anticipating surgeon needs, and maintaining a sterile environment.
  • Deliver clear post-operative instructions to patients and families, promoting smooth recoveries and lasting smiles.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a dental assistant, ideally in oral surgery or a similar specialty, is a plus.
  • Comfort and confidence monitoring vital signs and assisting with sedation procedures (nitrous oxide/IV).
  • Ability to take panoramic X-rays and manage surgical instruments.
  • Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-first attitude.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification preferred; dental assistant certification/registration as required by state.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced clinical environment.
