Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the oral surgeon during advanced surgical procedures, including wisdom tooth extractions and other complex oral surgeries.
- Monitor and record vital signs (blood pressure, pulse oximetry) to ensure patient safety throughout procedures.
- Administer nitrous oxide and assist with IV sedation, ensuring patient comfort and calmness.
- Take high-quality panoramic X-rays to aid in diagnosis and surgical planning.
- Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments, maintaining a sterile environment at all times.
- Educate patients and their families on post-operative care and recovery instructions.
Qualifications
- Experience as a Dental Assistant in oral surgery or a similar specialty
- Proficiency in taking vital signs and monitoring patients during procedures
- Hands-on experience with nitrous oxide and IV sedation protocols
- Ability to take panoramic X-rays with accuracy and precision
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Dental Assistant certification (CDA/RDA) is a plus
