Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse - Surgery Trauma

Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Night shift, guaranteed 36 hours per week, exact schedule to be determined by facility
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to complex trauma and surgical patients, including spinal cord injuries, gunshot wounds, and paraplegia
- Monitor neurological status and vital signs, recognizing subtle changes and intervening promptly
- Manage surgical incisions, drains, and wound care with meticulous attention to infection prevention
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and adjust individualized care plans
- Offer compassionate education and support to patients and their families during recovery
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Georgia or valid compact state license
- Minimum 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical or Trauma nursing experience
- EPIC electronic health record proficiency required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Must be able to provide work history, skills checklist, references, and Nursys license verification
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of trauma and post-surgical nursing care
- Expertise in neurological assessments and spinal cord injury management
- Proficient in EPIC charting and documentation
- Excellent critical thinking and crisis response skills
