Medical Assistant - Per Diem

Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: Per Diem - flexible 9.5-hour shifts, days and start times vary based on department needs
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $25 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate care to patients and their families
- Assist with patient intake, vital signs, and medical histories
- Support physicians during exams and procedures
- Prepare treatment rooms and ensure equipment is ready for use
- Document patient information accurately in electronic health records
- Coordinate patient flow to keep the clinic running smoothly
- Educate patients on treatment plans and follow-up care
Qualifications
- Medical Assistant certification or equivalent training required
- Current BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
- Prior experience in a hospital or outpatient setting is a plus
- Strong communication and patient service skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology and basic clinical procedures
- Skill in taking vital signs and patient histories
- Comfort with electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork abilities
- Attention to detail and effective time management
