Roles & Responsibilities

• Room patients and obtain accurate vital signs to start each visit on the right foot
• Collect and label specimens including throat swabs and urine clean-catch samples
• Perform venipuncture and point-of-care testing such as glucometer readings
• Administer injections and immunizations safely and professionally
• Prepare exam rooms and assist providers with cardiology procedures
• Chart patient encounters in Epic (experience preferred) and maintain accurate records
• Manage telephone triage, follow-up calls, and pharmacy refill requests
• Perform TB testing, nebulizer treatments, hearing and vision screenings as needed
• Support clinic operations by floating between sister clinics on a set schedule
• Deliver compassionate, timely patient care and uphold clinic policies for reliability

Qualifications

• WA MA-C license required (Certified Medical Assistant, MA-C)
• Minimum 6 months experience in an adult outpatient clinic setting
• Comfortable performing venipuncture, injections, specimen collection, and immunizations
• Able to chart accurately in Epic or willing to learn (Epic experience preferred)
• Reliable with scheduling constraints resolved prior to start (transportation, childcare, etc.)
• Willingness to float between three sister clinics on the established Mon-Thu schedule
• BLS preferred
• First-time MA-Cs are welcome as long as WA MA-C license is active

Education

• Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) — WA MA-C license required
• High school diploma or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

• Adult outpatient clinic workflow and patient rooming
• Vital signs, hearing and vision screening techniques
• Specimen collection, labeling, and basic lab test handling
• Venipuncture technique and point-of-care testing (glucometer)
• Administration of injections, immunizations, and TB testing
• Basic procedure setup and assisting providers
• Telephone triage, patient communication, and pharmacy refill processes
• Familiarity with Epic charting (preferred) and accurate documentation practices
