Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform thorough dental prophylaxis and scaling for patients
• Collect and document patient medical histories and oral health information
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care
• Assist the dentist with procedures and maintain a clean clinical environment
• Ensure compliance with infection control standards and regulatory guidelines

Qualifications

• Current Virginia Dental Hygienist license
• Associate degree in Dental Hygiene or equivalent
• Excellent communication and patient‑education skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a dental team
• Prior experience in a dental office preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Oral anatomy and periodontal disease assessment
• Dental radiography and imaging interpretation
• Preventive dental care protocols
• Electronic health record (EHR) documentation
• Infection control and OSHA compliance
