Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide surgical scrub support for complex cardiovascular and thoracic procedures
• Prepare and maintain the sterile field during surgery
• Assist surgeons with instrumentation and supplies during CABG, MVR, AVR, robotics, vascular, and hybrid procedures
• Manage on-bypass cases and provide critical support during cardiopulmonary bypass
• Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and respond quickly in high-acuity situations
• Maintain count accuracy and adhere to strict sterile technique
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of surgeons, nurses, and anesthesiologists

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) via NBSTSA
• Current BLS Certification
• Minimum of 2-3 years CVOR scrub experience (must have CV experience)
• Ability to work on bypass cases
• Experience with EPIC charting
• Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of cardiovascular and thoracic surgical procedures
• Expertise in sterile technique and surgical instrumentation
• Ability to anticipate surgeon needs in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Proficiency with EPIC charting system
• Capability to thrive in a high-acuity setting
