Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents with dignity and respect
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report any changes promptly
- Support safe and timely transfers and ambulation, using proper body mechanics
- Document care and observations professionally and clearly in resident records
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team to implement care plans
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices
- Engage residents with friendly conversation and meaningful social interaction
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in good standing
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate patient care
- Basic knowledge of infection control and safety procedures
- Willingness to complete facility-required screenings (background check, drug screen, TB test, immunizations)
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an accredited CNA program and current CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient care fundamentals and activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Vital signs measurement and basic clinical observations
- Safe transfer and ambulation techniques
- Clear documentation and charting practices
- Basic infection control and PPE usage
- Effective communication with residents, families, and clinical staff
