Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care to residents and support their daily needs
- Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, mobility)
- Take and record vital signs and report any changes to the nursing team
- Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents
- Communicate clearly and kindly with residents, families, and coworkers
- Document care accurately and promptly in the facility records
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (state registry) — active and in good standing
- Previous experience in long-term care or a clinical setting is a plus
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred or willing to obtain
- Ability to pass background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
Education
- High school diploma or GED (preferred)
- Current CNA certification or state equivalent required
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient-centered care and dignity-focused support
- Assisting with ADLs and safe patient transfers
- Measuring and documenting vital signs accurately
- Infection control and proper use of PPE
- Basic electronic charting or willingness to learn EMR systems
- Time management, reliability, and teamwork
