Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents — assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting)
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes promptly
- Support safe mobility and transfers using proper techniques and equipment
- Assist the care team with daily routines and treatment plans to promote resident comfort and dignity
- Document care and observations clearly and timely in the resident record
- Communicate kindly and effectively with residents, families, and nursing staff to ensure continuity of care
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (required)
- Completion of a state-approved CNA training program
- CPR/BLS certification (preferred or required per facility policy)
- Ability to pass background check and meet facility health requirements
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent (typical requirement)
- Completion of state-approved CNA program
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic patient care and assistance with ADLs
- Vital signs measurement and documentation
- Infection control and safe hygiene practices
- Clear clinical documentation and timely reporting
- Empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow care plans and work collaboratively with nursing staff
