Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate occupational therapy services to residents in a skilled nursing setting
• Implement personalized treatment plans to help patients regain independence in daily activities
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic care
• Document patient progress accurately to support continuity of care
• Educate patients and families on therapeutic techniques and adaptive strategies

Qualifications

• Active Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) license in Iowa (or compact eligible)
• At least one year of experience in a skilled nursing or rehabilitation setting preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Strong communication and patient-facing skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in therapeutic exercises, modalities, and adaptive equipment
• Knowledge of geriatric rehabilitation and dementia care best practices
• Excellent documentation and time management abilities
• Empathetic and patient-centered approach to care
