Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant - COTA
Location: Alameda, California
Start Date: 10-12-2026
End Date: 01-10-2027
Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Sunday-Saturday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (7 days/week, 35 hours guaranteed)
Hours per Week: 35
Candidate Pay Rate: $48 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate occupational therapy services to patients under the supervision of an OTR
- Implement treatment plans to help patients regain independence in daily living activities
- Document patient progress accurately and communicate with the interdisciplinary team
- Educate patients and families on therapeutic exercises and adaptive techniques
- Adapt activities and environments to maximize patient function and safety
Qualifications
- Valid Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) license in California
- At least 1 year of experience as a COTA in a clinical setting
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
Education
- Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program
Knowledge & Skills
- Expertise in therapeutic exercises and activities of daily living
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Knowledge of rehabilitation techniques for diverse patient populations
