Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Observe and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff promptly
• Assist with safe transfers, ambulation, and positioning to promote comfort and mobility
• Take and record vital signs and document care accurately in the resident chart
• Support meal assistance and feeding as needed, ensuring dignity and respect
• Maintain a clean, safe environment by following infection control and safety protocols
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver person-centered care
• Engage residents in meaningful conversation and activities to support emotional well-being

Qualifications

• Active CNA certification for Pennsylvania (or eligible to obtain prior to start)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and required immunizations
• Comfortable with resident lifting/transfers and physical demands of the role
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
• Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred

Education

• High school diploma or GED
• Completed state-approved CNA training program and certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic patient care
• Ability to take and accurately record vital signs
• Familiarity with infection control practices and resident safety procedures
• Basic charting and documentation skills
• Compassionate interpersonal skills and patience with elderly residents
• Teamwork and effective communication with nursing staff and families
