Roles & Responsibilities

Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and grooming
Provide compassionate bedside care and support to promote resident dignity
Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes to nursing staff
Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and equipment
Document care provided in a timely and accurate manner
Collaborate with the care team to follow individualized care plans
Create a warm, friendly environment that promotes resident comfort and engagement

Qualifications

Current CNA certification (required)
Active authorization to practice as a CNA in Connecticut preferred
Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification preferred or willing to obtain
Successful completion of background check and required health screenings
Prior experience in long term care or skilled nursing is a plus
Strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate bedside manner
Ability to lift and assist residents as required within facility safety guidelines

Education

High school diploma or GED preferred
Current CNA certification (required)

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of ADLs and elder care needs
Skill in taking and recording vital signs accurately
Familiarity with infection control and safety protocols
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to follow care plans and document care clearly
Basic mobility and transfer techniques
