Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate daily care to residents, assisting with hygiene, dressing, and mobility
Measure and record vital signs and report changes to the nursing team promptly
Support safe transfers and fall-prevention practices to protect residents
Assist with meals and feeding plans while encouraging dignity and independence
Maintain tidy, safe resident spaces and follow infection control protocols
Document care accurately and communicate clearly with interdisciplinary staff

Qualifications

Active CNA certification (Certified Nursing Assistant) — required
Eligible for or holding any state-required CNA registration/licensure for Connecticut
Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or able to obtain
Comfort working in a skilled nursing/long-term care environment and partnering with nursing staff
Strong communication skills and a compassionate, resident-centered approach

Education

CNA certification (required)
High school diploma or GED preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Hands-on resident care: bathing, grooming, transfers, toileting, and feeding
Vital signs monitoring and basic clinical observations
Infection control, hand hygiene, and safe handling techniques
Patient safety practices, fall prevention, and proper body mechanics
Clear documentation and effective teamwork with nurses and support staff
Dependability, empathy, and the ability to work in a fast-paced care setting
