Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and eating
• Take and record vital signs, reporting any changes to nursing staff
• Support residents with mobility, transfers, and positioning
• Assist with feeding, meal setup, and documenting intake/output
• Maintain a clean, safe, and comforting environment for residents
• Respond promptly to call lights and provide attentive, person-centered care

Qualifications

• Valid CNA certification in Connecticut (unencumbered and active)
• Current BLS/CPR certification
• Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others
• Reliable transportation and ability to work flexible per diem shifts
• Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred, but new grads are welcome to apply

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong understanding of resident care protocols and infection control
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficiency in documenting care and using electronic health records (EHR)
• Time-management skills to handle multiple patients with varying needs
