Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate pre-operative care to patients preparing for surgery
• Monitor patients in Phase I and Phase II recovery, ensuring safe emergence from anesthesia
• Assess incision sites, vital signs, and overall stability to detect complications early
• Collaborate with surgical teams and anesthesiologists to deliver seamless patient care
• Administer medications and manage PCA pumps, IV therapies, and other equipment
• Educate patients and families on post-surgical care and recovery expectations

Qualifications

• Active Hawaii RN license by start date (or willingness to obtain upon acceptance)
• Minimum 2 years of critical care nursing experience (ER or ICU) in a hospital setting
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
• PALS certification recommended
• NIHSS and TNCC certifications preferred
• PACU or surgical nursing experience a plus

Knowledge & Skills

• Experience with Meditech, Pyxis, and Point Click EMR systems
• Proficiency with PCA pumps, Braun IV pumps, and patient monitoring equipment
• Knowledge of anesthesia recovery protocols and Phase I/II care
• Strong critical thinking and assessment skills
• Ability to respond quickly to changing patient conditions
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
