Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in the Emergency Room using the nursing process.
• Deliver compassionate, total patient care to a diverse range of patients in a fast-paced ER setting.
• Direct and guide patient teaching, ensuring patients and families understand their care plans.
• Supervise ancillary personnel while maintaining the highest standards of professional nursing.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide timely, effective emergency interventions.
• Document patient information accurately and maintain compliance with hospital policies.

Qualifications

• Active and current Iowa RN license (or ability to obtain before start).
• BCLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Experience preferred but not required; new graduates are welcome to apply!
• Must meet all hospital health and employment requirements.

Education

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of the nursing process and patient care best practices.
• Proficient in emergency nursing skills including triage and stabilization.
• Skilled in ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC protocols.
• Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities in high-stress situations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient and team collaboration.
• Comfortable using electronic medical records (EMR) such as PointClick.
