Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during patient examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth and comfortable experience
• Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment according to safety standards
• Take and process dental x-rays as directed, maintaining high-quality images for diagnosis
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-procedure care, helping them feel confident and cared for
• Maintain accurate patient records and treatment notes as part of a collaborative team

Qualifications

• Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or RDA certification is a plus, but we are happy to train the right candidate
• Orthodontic assisting experience is preferred, but a strong willingness to learn is just as valuable
• Current CPR/BLS certification (or ability to obtain)
• Radiography (x-ray) certification or eligibility to become certified in Maryland
• Excellent communication skills with a friendly, patient-focused attitude

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of dental terminology and orthodontic procedures
• Proficiency with dental software and digital charting
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Compassionate interpersonal skills to put patients at ease
