Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during exams, procedures, and adjustments, ensuring patient comfort throughout
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment to maintain a safe and hygienic environment
• Take and develop dental X-rays, ensuring high-quality images for accurate diagnosis
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and orthodontic care to promote long-term oral health
• Maintain accurate patient records and treatment plans, including digital charting in Denticon
• Support a welcoming and efficient office environment by collaborating with the team and anticipating needs

Qualifications

• Current Dental Assistant certification or license in Maryland
• Orthodontic assistant certification required
• X-ray certification in Maryland
• Experience in orthodontic assisting is a plus
• Excellent communication and patient care skills with a friendly, positive attitude

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of dental instruments, sterilization techniques, and infection control protocols
• Proficiency with dental software, including Denticon
• Understanding of orthodontic procedures, terminology, and treatment workflows
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to thrive in a fast-paced office
• Compassionate and patient-focused approach to care
