Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist with chairside procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience.
• Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments to maintain the highest standards of safety.
• Take and process dental X-rays, helping to diagnose and plan orthodontic treatments.
• Educate patients and their families on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
• Manage patient flow and maintain accurate clinical records in our electronic system.

Qualifications

• Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) as required by Maryland state regulations.
• Current radiography (X-ray) certification.
• Previous experience in orthodontics highly preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
• Strong focus on patient comfort and safety.
• Excellent communication skills and a team spirit.

Knowledge & Skills

• Thorough knowledge of dental instruments, materials, and sterilization protocols.
• Understanding of orthodontic treatments, brackets, wires, and appliances.
• Proficiency with dental practice management software.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Great manual dexterity and attention to detail.
