Roles & Responsibilities

Apply a holistic approach to deliver medical social services that help patients and families overcome physical, social, emotional, and environmental challenges
Support individuals of all ages from prenatal to elderly in achieving optimal health
Collaborate with healthcare teams and community agencies to present information effectively
Step up to perform supervisory tasks when needed, working independently or in team settings

Qualifications

MSW from an accredited school of Social Work
One year experience in hospital or health-care setting
State of Alaska license at Master’s level (LMSW) or eligibility
Valid Alaska State driver’s license

Education

MSW (Master of Social Work) from an accredited school

Knowledge & Skills

College-level reading, comprehension, and writing skills
Math proficiency including rates, ratios, and graphs
Basic computer knowledge
Experience in cross-cultural settings preferred
Bilingual in English and Yup'ik a plus
