Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct patient care, assisting with daily living activities
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes to the nursing team
- Assist with safe transfers and mobility, ensuring patient comfort and dignity
- Maintain clean and safe patient environments, following infection-control practices
- Document care given in a clear, timely manner to support continuity and safety
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver excellent care
- Support patients and families with empathy, education, and reassurance
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification in good standing
- Certification or eligibility for certification per Pennsylvania requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred or willing to obtain if required
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Prior experience in long-term care or skilled nursing is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completed state-approved CNA training program and active certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient care fundamentals and safe transfer techniques
- Accurate vital sign measurement and documentation
- Infection prevention and proper PPE use
- Basic charting and electronic documentation familiarity
- Compassionate bedside manner and effective communication
- Ability to follow care plans and escalate concerns appropriately
