Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate basic patient care, including bathing, dressing, and hygiene assistance
- Assist with mobility, transfers, and safe patient positioning
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes promptly
- Support nursing staff with daily care tasks and documentation
- Maintain clean and safe patient environments and follow infection control practices
- Build trusting relationships with residents and their families through clear, caring communication
Qualifications
- Active CNA certification required (must be valid in Pennsylvania)
- Current basic life support (BLS) preferred or required per facility policy
- Demonstrated ability to provide safe, compassionate direct patient care
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team
- Up-to-date immunizations and ability to complete facility onboarding paperwork
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Completed accredited CNA training program and current certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in basic patient care tasks and resident mobility support
- Knowledge of infection control and safety best practices
- Comfortable documenting care in electronic or paper records
- Good observation skills to recognize and report changes in condition
- Customer-service mindset when interacting with residents and families
