Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct patient care and assistance with daily living activities
- Support residents with bathing, dressing, feeding, mobility and toileting needs
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes to the nursing team
- Document care provided in a clear, timely and professional manner
- Assist with safe transfers and use proper patient handling techniques
- Communicate effectively with nurses, families and interdisciplinary teams
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification in the state of Pennsylvania
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification preferred or willing to obtain
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to pass background check and meet facility immunization requirements
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Previous experience in long-term care or similar settings is a plus; new CNAs encouraged to apply
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- State CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of resident care and activities of daily living
- Familiarity with infection control practices and safety protocols
- Comfortable with basic clinical tasks like vital signs and charting
- Good time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
- Compassionate bedside manner and strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow care plans and work cooperatively with nursing staff
