Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents and patients, ensuring dignity and comfort
- Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes in condition promptly
- Support safe mobility by assisting with transfers and ambulation, using proper techniques
- Document care activities clearly and communicate effectively with nursing staff and interdisciplinary team
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and adhere to infection control and safety procedures
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required
- Active/state-appropriate CNA credential and ability to work in Pennsylvania
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or required depending on facility policy
- Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-centered attitude
- Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an approved CNA training program and certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Fundamentals of patient care and safe transfer techniques
- Measuring and recording vital signs accurately
- Basic infection control practices and personal protective equipment use
- Clear documentation and basic charting skills
- Teamwork, time management, and respectful communication with patients and families
