Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct patient care, helping residents with activities of daily living
- Assist nursing team with vital signs, mobility support, and basic clinical tasks
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of patient status and care provided
- Communicate clearly and kindly with residents, families, and the care team
- Support a safe, clean, and respectful environment for residents
- Participate in team huddles and follow care plans to ensure continuity of care
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (required)
- Active state registration in Connecticut (if applicable)
- Ability to complete an 8-hour shift and reliably report on scheduled days
- Comfortable performing resident transfers and basic clinical tasks
- Clear background check and TB screening per facility policy
- Positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a collaborative spirit
Education
- CNA certification (required)
- High school diploma or GED preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Foundational patient care skills (bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting)
- Basic vital signs measurement and observation
- Understanding of infection control and safety procedures
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
- Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care
