Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate basic patient care and assist with activities of daily living
• Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility needs
• Monitor and record vital signs accurately and report changes to the nursing team
• Support safe transfers and maintain a clean, safe environment for residents
• Document care provided and observations in resident charts with attention to detail
• Communicate effectively with nurses, residents, and families to promote excellent care
• Follow infection control protocols and facility policies to ensure resident safety
• Participate in care planning and contribute to a team-based approach to resident wellbeing

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification in Connecticut (or eligible to obtain)
• Active/state-required credentials and any state IDs required for CNAs
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass background checks and health screenings per facility policy
• Reliable attendance and the ability to work an 8-hour shift
• Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-focused attitude
• Previous long-term care or skilled nursing experience is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Current CNA certification (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfortable assisting with activities of daily living and mobility support
• Knowledge of basic infection control and patient safety practices
• Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
• Familiarity with basic documentation and charting practices
• Strong teamwork, communication, and observational skills
• Compassion, patience, and respect for resident dignity
