Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents including bathing, dressing and feeding
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) while promoting dignity and independence
- Monitor resident condition and promptly report changes to nursing staff
- Accurately document care delivered and resident responses in the chart
- Support a safe and clean environment by following infection control and safety protocols
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver resident-centered care plans
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification valid in Connecticut
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Demonstrated ability to provide patient-focused, courteous care
- Comfortable working as part of a team in a long-term or skilled nursing setting
- Must be able to pass required background checks and health screenings
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completed state-approved CNA training program and current certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong personal care and ADL assistance skills
- Basic vital signs and observation skills with good attention to detail
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with residents and team members
- Knowledge of infection control best practices
- Basic documentation skills and comfort with electronic or paper charting
