Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on patient care and support daily needs
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting)
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes in condition
• Maintain clear, timely documentation in patient charts and electronic records
• Communicate effectively with nurses, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members
• Adhere to infection control, safety protocols, and facility policies to protect patients and staff
• Participate in shift handoffs and contribute to a positive, team-oriented environment

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification valid for practice in Connecticut
• Completion of a state-approved CNA training program
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or required as per facility policy
• Up-to-date immunizations and TB test as required by the facility
• Ability to pass background check and drug screen
• Strong communication skills and a genuine desire to care for others

Education

• High school diploma or GED and completion of a state-approved CNA program

Knowledge & Skills

• Basic patient care techniques and safe transfer/lifting practices
• Accurate vital signs measurement and documentation
• Familiarity with infection control standards and PPE use
• Basic charting and electronic health record (EHR) navigation
• Good time management, teamwork, and observation/reporting skills
• Compassionate patient interaction and de-escalation approaches
