Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
- Monitor and record vital signs and report changes to nursing staff promptly
- Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
- Maintain a clean, safe and respectful environment for residents
- Document care accurately and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team
- Build meaningful connections with residents, offering dignity, patience and respectful support
Qualifications
- Current and valid CNA certification required
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening as required by facility
- Current Basic Life Support CPR certification preferred or required per facility policy
- Up-to-date immunizations per facility guidelines
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completed state-approved CNA training program and active CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Assisting with ADLs including bathing, dressing and toileting
- Taking and documenting vital signs accurately
- Basic infection control and hand hygiene practices
- Safe resident handling and transfer techniques
- Clear documentation and communication within the care team
- Empathy, patience and strong interpersonal skills
