Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct patient care and assist with activities of daily living
- Measure and record vital signs and report changes in patient condition
- Support safe patient mobility and transfers with proper technique
- Maintain a clean and safe environment following infection control practices
- Document care activities and observations accurately and promptly
- Communicate effectively with nurses, therapists, and other team members to coordinate care
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification in Connecticut
- Demonstrated caregiving experience and a patient-centered attitude
- Ability to pass background check and required health screenings
- Strong communication skills and dependable attendance
- Basic life support (BLS) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a state-approved CNA training program
- Active CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on patient care and personal care skills
- Basic vital sign measurement and documentation
- Safe patient handling and transfer techniques
- Infection prevention and control practices
- Clear communication, teamwork, and empathy toward patients and families
- Comfort with charting and following care plans
