Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered care and assist with activities of daily living
- Support nursing staff by taking vital signs, assisting with mobility, and monitoring patient condition
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and report changes in patient status
- Ensure a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices
- Collaborate with the care team to deliver individualized, respectful care
- Build trusting relationships with residents and their families through clear communication
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification in Connecticut (required)
- Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain
- Ability to pass background check and meet facility onboarding requirements
- Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-first attitude
- Previous long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred but new grads welcome
Education
- High school diploma or GED
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of basic nursing procedures and patient hygiene
- Comfort with assisting patients with mobility and transfers
- Familiarity with charting and basic documentation practices
- Ability to follow care plans and execute instructions from nursing staff
- Good time management and teamwork skills in a fast-paced setting
