Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents and support daily living activities
- Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding and mobility with dignity
- Take and report vital signs and observe changes in condition promptly
- Document care accurately and communicate clearly with the nursing team
- Support safe transfers and use proper body mechanics to protect residents and yourself
- Build trusting relationships with residents and their families through respectful communication
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification valid in Connecticut
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Comfortable performing ADLs and lifting/transferring residents safely
- Able to pass background check and drug screening
- Reliable, punctual, and a team player who puts resident care first
Education
- High School Diploma or GED; current CNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of resident care best practices and infection control
- Proficient in taking/recording vital signs and observing clinical changes
- Skilled in assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Good documentation skills and basic familiarity with electronic health records
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with residents and co-workers
- Ability to follow care plans and take direction from nursing staff
