Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care that helps residents feel safe, respected, and at home
• Assist residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating
• Monitor and record vital signs, intake and output, and report any changes to the nursing team
• Help residents move safely, including transfers, repositioning, and walking assistance
• Keep patient rooms and common areas clean, stocked, and comfortable
• Document care accurately and promptly so the whole team stays in sync
• Lift spirits with a friendly face, a listening ear, and genuine encouragement

Qualifications

• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of Maine
• Current BLS certification is a plus
• Prior CNA experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting is preferred, but new CNAs with solid training are welcome to apply
• Must have completed the original or updated COVID-19 vaccine series, or present a documented religious or medical exemption from your employer, with additional doses obtained where required by law
• Must bring a state or federal issued identification to the facility and wear a photo badge at all times
• Reliable, punctual, and ready to pitch in wherever the team needs you

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfortable taking vital signs and spotting changes worth reporting
• Safe patient handling and transfer techniques
• Solid understanding of infection control and standard precautions
• Clear, warm communication with residents, families, and the care team
• Accurate and timely charting in electronic health records
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine heart for caring for others
• Ability to stay calm and organized during a busy shift
