Candidate Pay Rate: $19 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate daily care to residents, assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming, and other activities of daily living
  • Monitor and record vital signs, promptly reporting any changes to the nursing team
  • Support residents with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety and comfort at all times
  • Assist with mealtimes and hydration, making sure each resident's nutritional needs are met
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment, and diligently document care provided
  • Build trusting relationships with residents and their families, offering emotional support and companionship

Qualifications

  • Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of Maine
  • Current CPR certification or ability to obtain prior to start
  • Compassion and a genuine desire to help others
  • Ability to communicate clearly and work collaboratively with a care team
  • Prior experience in long-term care is a plus, but not required

Knowledge & Skills

  • Knowledge of basic patient care techniques and safety protocols
  • Strong observational skills to detect changes in residents' condition
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Empathy, patience, and a positive attitude
  • Ability to assist residents with physical tasks and use proper body mechanics
