Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate basic nursing care and assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming)
• Support resident mobility and fall prevention through safe transfer techniques
• Monitor and record vital signs and report changes in condition to nursing staff
• Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment for residents
• Document care accurately and timely in resident charts or electronic records
• Collaborate with the care team to deliver person-centered care
• Assist with feeding and nutrition needs, following care plans and dietary instructions
• Promote dignity and independence for each resident through respectful communication

Qualifications

• Valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (required)
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass background check and drug screen
• Comfortable working in a long-term care or skilled nursing environment
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; reliable and compassionate approach

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of a state-approved CNA training program (required for certification)

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic nursing procedures
• Understanding of infection control and patient safety protocols
• Ability to take and document vital signs accurately
• Basic charting/EHR familiarity or willingness to learn
• Effective communication with residents, families, and the care team
• Safe resident handling and transfer techniques
