Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive speech, language, and swallowing screenings and evaluations for patients in a post-acute care setting
• Develop individualized treatment and discharge plans that help each patient improve communication and swallowing function
• Deliver compassionate, evidence-based therapy that focuses on personal goals and functional outcomes
• Document patient progress thoroughly and accurately, maintaining compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations
• Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, families, and the interdisciplinary care team to ensure coordinated care
• Uphold infection control and safety protocols to create a secure and healing environment

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Speech-Language Pathology program with a Master's degree (MS/MA)
• Current Maryland SLP license, or eligibility for licensure, with Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) or CFY supervision available
• Strong communication and clinical problem-solving skills
• Passion for working with patients in post-acute and skilled nursing settings
• Ability to maintain accurate documentation and work collaboratively in a team environment

Education

• Master's degree (MS/MA) in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of evidence-based practices in speech, language, and swallowing therapy
• Skilled in patient evaluation, treatment planning, and discharge planning
• Proficient in clinical documentation and regulatory compliance
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with patients, families, and care teams
• Understanding of infection control and safety protocols
