Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide routine medical management for inpatient orthopedic care, including ordering diagnostic tests, labs, x-rays, and medications within your PA scope
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and communicate treatment plans with physicians, nursing staff, and families
• Manage patient discharges with appropriate follow-up planning, adjunctive therapy management, and patient education
• Assess emergency conditions and, with the attending physician, implement management and surgical interventions
• Perform bedside histories and physicals as needed
• Function as first or second assistant in the operating room, including surgical exposure, dissection, wound closure, and application of dressings and immobilization devices

Qualifications

• Active California Physician Assistant license required
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required
• DEA license required
• Three years of experience in inpatient, outpatient, and surgical care required
• You are compassionate, an excellent communicator, and a strong critical thinker
