Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients according to physician orders, creating personalized care plans that restore independence
• Develop and update individualized treatment and discharge plans to ensure seamless care transitions
• Document services with precision and timeliness, keeping the care team informed
• Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) while ensuring compliance with state practice acts and facility policies
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams and families to promote optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain strict adherence to safety and regulatory standards to deliver high-quality, ethical care

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program (Master's or Doctorate)
• Active South Dakota OT license or the ability to obtain one
• Strong clinical, documentation, and communication skills
• Passion for helping patients achieve independence

Education

• Master's or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in patient evaluation and treatment planning
• Strong documentation and communication abilities
• Experience in discharge planning and interdisciplinary collaboration
• Knowledge of compliance standards and safety regulations
• Ability to supervise COTAs effectively
