Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and develop personalized treatment plans to help them achieve independence in daily living skills
• Implement evidence-based occupational therapy interventions per physician orders and referrals
• Document patient progress accurately and timely to ensure continuity of care
• Supervise and guide Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) in accordance with practice acts and facility policies
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams and families to optimize each patient's recovery journey
• Maintain compliance with all safety and regulatory standards, creating a secure environment for patients and staff

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program (MOT or OTD)
• Active South Dakota Occupational Therapy license (or ability to obtain before start)
• Strong clinical reasoning, documentation, and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team

Education

• Master's or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program

Knowledge & Skills

• Expert knowledge of occupational therapy principles and practices
• Patient evaluation and assessment techniques
• Treatment planning and implementation
• Discharge planning and coordination
• Accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Effective communication with patients, families, and team members
