Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide preventive dental care and oral hygiene education to patients
• Perform dental cleanings, plaque removal, and periodontal assessments
• Document patient records accurately and maintain up‑to‑date charts
• Collaborate with dentists and clinical staff to ensure high‑quality care
• Maintain sterilization and infection‑control standards for all instruments

Qualifications

• Current Virginia Dental Hygienist license
• Graduated from an accredited dental hygiene program
• Strong communication and patient‑education skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Prior dental hygiene experience preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Oral health assessment techniques
• Prophylaxis and scaling procedures
• Basic dental radiography
• Infection control protocols
• Proficiency with patient charting software
