Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide gentle, thorough dental cleanings and preventive care to pediatric patients
• Take and process dental x-rays to assist with diagnosis
• Educate children and their families on proper oral hygiene techniques
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and treatment areas to maintain a safe environment
• Collaborate with the dentist to deliver a positive patient experience
• Document patient care accurately in the dental practice system

Qualifications

• Active Maryland Dental Hygienist license
• Current CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Experience with pediatric patients preferred but not required
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and efficiently

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of dental prophylaxis and periodontal therapy
• Proficiency in taking dental radiographs
• Knowledge of infection control and sterilization standards
• Comfort using dental software for appointments and records
• A patient and compassionate approach when working with children
