Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive dental hygiene care to patients
- Perform cleanings and prophylaxis to maintain oral health
- Take and interpret dental radiographs
- Apply preventive treatments like fluoride and sealants
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques
- Maintain accurate patient records and treatment plans
- Ensure strict adherence to infection control protocols
Qualifications
- Active Dental Hygienist license in Virginia
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Experience in clinical dental hygiene (preferred)
- Excellent patient communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Knowledge & Skills
- In-depth knowledge of dental hygiene principles and practices
- Proficiency with dental instruments and radiography equipment
- Familiarity with dental software for patient management
- Understanding of sterilization and infection control standards
- Skills in patient education and oral health promotion
