Roles & Responsibilities

• Implement therapy interventions following the OT plan of care to help patients regain independence
• Document patient progress accurately and in a timely manner
• Assist with patient and family education for continued success at home
• Communicate patient status clearly to the supervising Occupational Therapist
• Follow all safety, infection control, and compliance protocols to ensure a secure healing environment

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
• Active state COTA license or the ability to obtain one
• Strong teamwork and patient care skills

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program

Knowledge & Skills

• Therapy interventions and treatment techniques
• Accurate clinical documentation
• Patient education and family communication
• Excellent communication and teamwork
• Safety protocols and infection control practices
